Looking Back, Looking Forward
2022 was certainly a difficult year for most investors. Most equity markets around the world were down significantly, and bonds – while usually acting as a “ballast” in a portfolio during times of turmoil – had one of their worst years in history. There was virtually nowhere to hide for long-term, strategic investors.
So, with the calendar turning to 2023, we find it worthwhile to examine what some of our investment partners have to say about the year behind and the year ahead. One such firm is Kayne Anderson Rudnick, a Virtus Investment Partners firm. They recently released the following piece summarizing their review of 2022 and thoughts on what could be in store in 2023. We found this to be a worthwhile read and wanted to share with you. You can click the link below to access the article:
Virtus KAR Market Review & Outlook
The predictions and prognostications of Wall Street are endless, so we try to focus on those who examine the markets with sound reason, robust data, a long-term mindset, and a healthy dose of humility. Because no matter what we or anyone else thinks, the market has a way of confounding, surprising, and even exasperating us time and again. All we can do is make the best decisions with the information at hand and adjust as necessary as things change.
As always, we welcome your thoughts and feedback, and look forward to speaking with you soon.
